Methodology
Credit Factor publishes consumer credit education grounded in public federal data. Specific data sources are cited inline on each page where a claim is made.
Editorial process
Research is AI-assisted. Every guide, glossary entry, state profile, and company review is reviewed by the Credit Factor editorial team before publication. We use qualifying language ("typically," "may," "generally") and present risks alongside benefits. We do not publish personalized advice.
Update cadence
Federal data feeds (consumer complaints, interest rates, delinquency rates, household income estimates) refresh on independent schedules set by their issuing agencies. We update content when underlying data changes materially or when our editorial process evolves. Each guide carries a last-reviewed date.

- We do not predict individual credit outcomes. Score impacts described on the site are general guidelines based on public scoring model documentation.
- We do not offer legal or tax advice. For personalized guidance, consult a qualified professional.
